HTUK Greyhound Hus Lines have signed a contract with 16 passenger airlines and two freight carrying air companies to sup plement air freight with bus stop delivery. This will mean that almost any village on a main highway will have air freight serv ice available to it. the freight traveling ma jor portions of its journey by air and being transported from the air line city terminal to the addressee by bus. This is simply part of many steps which different types of carriers are taking to keep up with—and meet the competition of -other types of carriers. The Chesapeake and ('hi" Railroad some time ago arranged for interchange of rail and air freight with Slick Airways, one of the largest air freight trai sport companies in the world. Various railroads now are piling truck trailer units on fiatcars to he hauled from rail head to rail head. A Calitornia railroad is building a pipeline on its right of way to use, in lieu o. tank ears, lor transportation of petrol eum products. All of these things are excellent steps and indicate new progressiveness and ag gressiveness on the part of those concern ed.
