Return of Spring When winter's days are here no more, When things aawke from sleep, When from my lake below the hill I hear spring froggies cheep When I see violets show themselves And springtime crocus flowers, I bid farewell to winter, and Enjoy spring's pleasant hours. I soon will see returning birds That come to us each spring; From winter homes they will come back To us on joyful wing.' The buttercup in meadows soon Will lift its golden head To prove to me without a doubt That winter's days are fled. And we who know we soon must pass Because our course is run, Will bosk again, enjoying life In springtime's warming sun How good it is to be alive When springtime's sunshine is here, To hear the music made by birds And breathe the scented air L D WHITAKER
