Mr. W'heelock had visited frequently in this area. A lifelong 1 esident of Washington county, he retired from t.hp state highway department in 1953 a‘ter 20 years of service He taught Har mony Baptist church adult men's class. In addition to Mrs. Walker, the survivors include the widow, Mrs. Fuia Fe guson Wheelock: six sons. Niles and Newton Wheelock. of Jonesboro: Nat and James Whee l'd.. of Kingsport. Tenn.. Alfred Wheelock. of Gray. Tenn , and Grant. Jr.. of Bristol: another daughter. Lucille, of Jonesboro: two brothers. W. T. Wheelock, of Jonesboro, and Grover Wheelock, of Fordtown. Tenn: 18 grandctrldren; one great-grandchild: three sisters, Mrs. Daniel Ferguson, of Jonesboro, Mrs Cecil Chase, of Gray, and Mrs. Paul Hale, of Illinois, and h i s mother. Mrs. Martha Wheelock.
