Roadside dumping in Rappahannock county is almost out of hand, the State Hig.jAay Department said this week.
A spokesman said it is one of the most serious problems faced by Resident Engineer J. E. Johnson.
Johnson said t'ne department’s “No Dumping” signs “have little, if any, effect.”
Illegal dumping creates unsightly rubbish heaps which mar the beauty of the countryside, create health problems, and give highway forces no end of trouble, a spokesman from the Richmond office of the highway department commented.
