bee December Issue of Southern Planter: This publication carries an article on the battery of bulls whose services will be made available to Rappahannock Dairy Breeders’ Inc. How Will the Organization Work? After 800 cows have been subscribed the members will elect officers and incorporate. The local co-op will be a member of the Virginia Artificial Breeders’ Association Inc. This parent cooperative will train the man sleeted by the local group in artificial insemination. When a member notices he has a cow to be bred he calls the inseminator before 10 a.m. each morning. The inseminator then makes out his breeding schedule for the day in such a manner as to breed the cows in the last half of their heat period and thereby insure a higher rate of conception.

CANASTA PARTY
Friday evening, December 19, Miss Paula Miller and Mrss Neville Wood were hostesses for a canasta party in the home of their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C. G. Reid of “Rose Cottage.” Their guests were Misses Betty Jean Settle, Mildred Sisk, Elsie Mae Jenkins, Evelyn Tyler Miller, Carolyn Gates Turner, Elizabeth Vemer, Elizabeth Smith, Mildred Many, Mary Norman Davis, Judy Hawkins, Peachy Lyne, and Frances Walker. After the game, refreshments were served by the hostesses and prizes were awarded to Evelyn Miller for high score; Mildred Sisk won consolation and Carolyn Turner won the bingo.
