The ' meeting at aniich the church was established was held “at the Academy near the New • Baptist Meeting House” according., to the first minutes concerning the Organization. Elder Silas Bruce was unanimously chosen Pastor of the church. J. W. |Hiller was appointed Clerk and G. H. Coons, Assistant Clerk. The first Deacons were’ ArmUtead Brown, Jacob Rudasilla, Walker Jones ana Ed.ward Burgess. \
After one hundred years of service this neighborhood church continues to be an influence for good in the community.
