The other two movie* showed how the Red Cross conducted its Bloodmohile Program, its Swimming and Lifesaving Programs, Disaster Program and “Gray , Lady” program in the hospitals. ; Following these movies, the * meeting was open for questions' that may have arisen concerning die work of the Red Cross. Mrs. Elen Martin, Area supervisor,' present at the meeting, answered clearly the numerous questions asked by die audience. Various “selling cigarettes” type stories were aired and explained. It was repeatly stated that “Assistance given to the Armed Forces is provided for by voluntary contributions from the American people*—Red Cross Services and supplies for members qf the armed forces are • not sold.”

; Dramatic Operation
An example of a dramatic heart operation, with a father “lending" his heart and lungs to his daughter as surgeons repaired the gaping hole in the wall separating the pumping chambers of her heart, was related today by Dr. R. Bryan Grinnan, Jr., President of Virginia Heart Association. Partners in this history-making heart operation which was performed in Minneapolis were Ronald Schmidt and' five-year-old Pamela Schmidt of Minneapolis.
Before the operation, Pamela seemed doomed to a life of invalidism or possible death at an early age. She had spent 10 months in an oxygen tent. Today, she*is given as good a chance as any youngster for a normal, healthy life. ■
