A '‘number of citizens of Rappahannock County feel grateful to Mr. Clifford Dowdy for his most excellent article, “The Symbol of the Heritage” in the july issue®of the Virginia Record, and to quote one. “wish everyone in Rappahannock County would read it, they," they say, ‘‘will find their resentment at the criticism of General Robert E. Lee by Montgomery and Eisenhower at Gettysburg well and forcibly expressed.”
