FARMER DIES IN
TRUCK CRASH
A farmer was killed and two others were injured near Front Royal, Va. August 29th when five steers in their truck apparently shifted suddenly, plunging the truck down a 30 foot embankment.
Milton Atkins, 80, of Washington, Va., died when he was thrown from the truck and hit a boulder. Trooper Harry Will reported.
The driver, Thaddeus C. Hudson, 71, was critically injured and a passenger, Ira B. Fincham, 64, received serious face and b<ad cuts. The pair, also from Washington, were admtted to Warren County Memorial Hospitalr in Front Royal. .
One steer was killed. Two others had to be destroyed. The)' were being taken to the Thursday stock sale in Front Royal.
As we go to press Mr. Hudson a>’d Mr. Fincham are both reported in critical conditon.
