The local Navy recruiter announced today that the United States Navy maintains trade schools to-prepare qualified young men for one of over. 60 different job fields.
Qualified high school graduates will be guaranteed one of these schools prior to enlistment. Other young men may also gain admittance to service schools through fleet quotas. In addition to trade training, all Navy bluejackets are given the opportunity to continue their formal education through correspondence courses and extension classes conducted throughout various parts of the world.
All Navymen are technicians in their field. Every sailor is given on the job training by experts who have had many years experience in their particular field. Travel in the Navy is an education in itself. During your travels to foreign countries you will make many new’ friends and learn much about the customs and traditions of the people in foreign lands.
