A committee of representatives from the various beef cattle organisations in the state is working on a program for the Virginia Beef Congress to be held February 17 and 18 at Natural Bridge. This program is designed to “attract state-wide interest in die outstanding problems of the beef cattle in'dustry today. - The program will feature speakers of national reputation on such subjects as: “Responsibilities of the Purebred Breeder,” ‘‘Functions and Operations of the National Livestock and Meat Board,” “Performance. Testing of Beef Cattle,” “Dwarfism in Beef Cattle.” and “Outlook for the Beef Cattle Industry,” The meeting is planned to begin at noon on Monday, Feb. 17th, with a luncheon sponsored by the Virginia Beef Cattle Im•provement Association. Yollowing the Juncheori the Virginia BCIA will hold its annual meeting until 3 p.m. at which time the various organizations will hold their owri individual itieetings. The Tuesday meeting will be devoted to the subjects listed above with Park C. Brinkly. Commissioner of Agriculture, presiding, Ezra Taft Benson will be the luncheon speaker. The afternoon will be devoted to ia meeting of the Virginia Feeder-yearling association.
