At the recent annua] meeting ot the stockholders of the Rappahannock Home Mutual Fire,; Insurance Company, "the members present instructed their, Board of Directors to place, before the full membership and the public at large several matters that were discussed.

First mentioned was the fact that rumors-were being spread by a Competitive agency to the effect that this ' company, in the event of a total loss, pays Only 76% of the face value of the policy. This is absolutely untrue. / We pay the fell amount of the policy. In other words, if we insure a building for $5,000.00 and.it is completely destroyed by fire, we pay the policy-holder $5,000. 00. In the event of partial loss, we take care of the full damage up to the amount of the policy. We insure buildings for three-fourths of their value and premium is paid on jiist that evaluation. iV -» V h'.. 3 : ■ * • • j•• ^ ' ' • . \

This company uses the same taah to appraise prop erty and to adjust claims, which makes our operation quite simple and’ clear cut with^ho “buck passing*” Furthermore, oiir adjustments are always! inade ’ prompty. i-L i 1C

This company has never been the defendant in a law ‘suit since its organization in 1872. We have made no Special assessments in more than 30 years. In the past ,20 years, we have had only one claimant who was not completely satisfied.with our adjustment of his claim. We now have 639 policy-holders and, althou^^our rates are the lowest in the state ;of Virginia and we do hot insure outside the boundaries of the county of ’ Rappahannock, we are quit/e proud of the fact that we have built up a cagh surplus of over $66,000.00.

For the past several y^ars our company has made an annual donation of $800.00 to the various volunteer fire companies of Rappahannock County. We know of no other fire insurance company doing business in this county which makes a like contribution. v.„ vi . ' :
