Resurfacing following last winter’* severe weather was the "principal 1958 secondary road achievement m Fauquier, Prince- William and Rappahannock Counties, according to an end of the year report by J. T. Warren, of Warrenton.
More than 100 miles of hand surfaced roads, 45 miles in Fauquier, 50 miles in Prince William and about 8 miles in Rappahannock, were given new bituminous surfaces and some 24 miles of primary highways in the area were given new heavy duty asphalt surfaces.
New hard surfacing on secondary roads in many Virginia counties was curtailed during 1958 by the large repair bill for 1957-58 winter damage, the Highway Department said.
