Benton is married to the former Miss Helen Gore of Sperryville, Virginia, and both of them have been active in the Episcopal Church, Garden Club, and Rappahannock Hunt Club. They have one pre-school age son, Hugh. The Bentons, presently living at the Piney River Ranger Station in the North District of Shenandoah National Park, expect to enter duty at Cape Hatteras on November 8. Although they will be stationed at the Headquarters Area temporarily, their permanent assignment at ape Hatteras will be on Ocracoke Island. It is located across Hatteras Inlet and is some 30 miles from the mainland.
Mr. and Mrs. Benton have been honored by the Shenandoah employees Association with a costume farewell party at Panomara Restaurant or! Wednesday, October 25, with a large number of coworkers in attendance.
