Honored At Dinner
Judge B. M. Miller was honored at a surprise testimonial dinner Friday given by the Rappahannock County Bar Association. The dinner was held at Thornton Hill Farm, Sperryville, the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Fletcher. Judge Miller retired July 1, after 17 years of service as judge of Rappahannock County Court.
He was presented a silver tray by Judge R. V. Snead, on behalf of his colleagues. Engraved on the tray was this inscription: “To The Honorable B. M. Miller with gratitude and appreciation from the Rappahannock County Bar Association.”
Reassessment Report
Mr. M. C. Bacon, appraiser on the Reassessment Commission for Rappahannock County, reports that work has been completed in all districts except Piedmont and Hampton. The local Board of Assessors working with Mr. Bacon includes D. D. Miller, Chairman ; Rodes Brown and Thomas Williams. Work began on this project January 15 and has progressed satisfactorily. However, there was delay during the snows.
