EXTRA - EXTRA

By Ed

Nosing around for news and taking pictures Monday was a pleasant task. Amazing was the progress at the Aileen building, for I had not been by there since the day of the ground breaking.

Bradfords Store in Flint Hill also has a “new look.” They have given it a new front entirely and shined up inside too.

On my return from the Flint ■Hill area, I stopped by to inspect the new building Col. Holmes is haveing constructed just outside of Washington. He will have a frozen custard stand and short order restaurant and a fashionable market for his succulent Merry Mellon apples. He has also made repairs on the old mill house, one of the oldest buildings in the county. I must say it all met with my approval.

On to Sperryville which I always manage to hit about lunch time so I can enjoy one of the delicious homemade barbecues at Cab Inn. And after Mrs. Thompsen tempted me, I couldn’t resist some homemade blackberry pie with vanilla ice cream.

To the top of the mountain to get a picture or two. No matter
