This year the school also has a new resource officer - a uniformed sherill's deputy assigned to the schools -- and Burkot says that the school has a very good working relationship with the Sheriff's Office.
In both cases* the students who were charged were identified by school officials after receiving information about their being in possession oi" narcotics. Burket said that information will often come from other students and trout tha,t they have reasonable suspicion to act.
Both students charged with possession of marijuana were automatically suspended for 10 days.
