Feb 1-13. opened in Faimville with about 45 Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts and their adult leaders attending Sunday morning service of the Farmviile Methodist Church at Jarman Hall. Take Over Duties Another feature of Boy Scout Week will take plate Saturday, j when members of Troops 116 and ; 118 in Farmviile take over town and county offices for the day. 1 This project has been planned to teach the Scouts duties and func tions of town and county govern ment. The day will be climaxed at noon with a mock trial in the Cir cuit Courtroom. Boy Scouts, act ing as town and county officials, will try a traffic violator. About 250 boys and 150 adults are active in Boy Scout work in this district. Mr. Short said in re viewing the progress of Scouting since he started his duties. Sept. 1. Six new troops, one pack, and one Explorer's Post have been or ganized in the district during tiiis time. District VI of the Piedmont Area was re-organized, effective Jan 1 And Mr. Shoit commented that a new district oiganization lias been set up. Next year. Scout work in this area will be concentrated on Cub Scout organizations, he said. National Boy Scout Week is ob served by Scouts m the United States annually. It celebrates the incorporation of Boy Scouts of America m Washington, D. C.. in 1910.
