Southside Virginia phrase, honoi for the past, help for the present, hope for the fu ture just about sums up the sec ond annual Farmvhle Tobacco Jubilee, which brought 1.500 farmers to town Thursday to re ceive the Community's thanks for their tobacco business. There were seats of honor and public recognition for growers who had made outstanding crops: there were helpful words of farm advice from Agriculture Commis sioner Parke C Brinkley, and there were hopeful words of pos sible acreage increases from Con gressman Watkins M. Abbitt. The awarding of $850 in cash and merchandise prizes also con stituted a helpful gesture for the present. In all theie were 17 prizes awarded to lucky ticket holders as little Donald Coin, of Pamplin, poked a tiny, fair minded fist into the huge squirrel cage of luck, containing more than 8.000 stubs.
