Letters to Editor CARRY ME BACK TO OI.D VIRGINNY I'm down here in the Sunshine State Where Bonded palm trees “row ; Where flowers bloom in winter time And tropic brei've.s blow. Large coconuts and oranges Are growing here til trees. And it gives quite a thrill to me To see such sights as these. The flowers here are beautiful. The homes are lovely too: And many tilings of interest Are here for folks to view. I have seen great alligatoi Here basking in the sun: The weight of some of these large brutes Exceeds a half a ton The bathing beaches here are fine. And in the tropic sun The bathers ride the white cap lied waves, Enjoying life and fun. When it’s Virginia winter time It does seems strange to me. To see the folks in bathing suits I 1 Here bathing in the sea They claim this is a wonder state, And in these claims there's truth, But I have not found that foun tain To bring me back my youth For. like old Ponce de Leon. 1 now have learned to know We cannot find our yout h a s ain No matter where we go i And w hile this is a charming place To visit for a while. If really think Virginia turn It beaten by a mile. Tho waving palms and tropic skies May -live me some thrills. I better like Virginia with Her valleys and her lulls Nostalgically yours. I D.
