Mr. Hoffman spoke clearly on the duties and privileges of being a volunteer fireman. He stated that a fireman serves his community in being able to save both life and property. He gave the characteristics of a good fireman: primarily unselfishness, and the willingness to put forth untiring and determined effort. He emphasised that a fire company needs to let the people know of. their work and learn to respect the value of a good fire company. * New members to join the fire company and the auxiliary were Mr. and Mrs, W. H. Massie, Jr. Mrs. Massie said that it was since' rim had come to live within earshot of the fire siren that she had realised to what extent volunteer firemen were called upon to serve the community, at all houn and in all kinds of weather.

Miss Ebba T. Hitt met with her (Sunday School class on Monday evening in the home of Mrs. C/~ Ennis Brown and organized a junior Methodist Club.
