Country papers are always catching the jeers of our city neighbors about the news reported. Of course, the city papers have all kind of crime waves, murders, and horrible stories to print every day or two, but out in the country, where we., folks live-fairly peaee— ful and law-abiding lives, news is dinner parties and bridge clubs, plus the accounts of deaths, births, and marriages.
As an example, here* is a prize account from a weekly paper— our city cousins would call it the “country paper” — published not (too far ..from us. “Mr. and Mrs. P entertained at' dinner Wednesday their friends, Mr. and Mrs. C of H and it being Mrs. C’s birthday, the hostess baked a.birthday cake and it formed a centerpiece for the table. The Cs at>^ ♦v- " have been very./*—- ..re45 years, but had not visited for
long time, so Mrs. C planned the trip. All enjoyed the visit, bringing back many, many memories of 40 years ago. Mrs. C was the former Miss D, adopted daughter of the late J and E D of this community. Mr. C is from N, and a cousin of Mrs. P. Mr. and Mrs. P were dinner guests - Thursday with their cousin, Miss L of B. Mrs. P packed a basket of roast chicken dinner and for dessert was
