William Stevens, representativeof William Schluderberg and Kirjdle Company of Baltimore, com* mon’y known as Ess-Kay products was at the County Agent’s office last week and is very anxious to learn whether or not the farmers of this county would be interest* ed in his company locating a live* stock buying station in this or one of the adjoining counties east of the Blue Ridge.
Esa-Kay produces mainly cold outs and fresh meat products, and in the past has been buying live animals at the Baltimore and western markets. As a result of increased freight rates, they are now anxious to buy more meat Mte in the east and for the first time are now planning to purchase throughsmall buying stations located near production centers.
Livestock producers of Kappa* hannock are requested to notify my office of their interest in having a buying station located here which will probably determine whether or not Ess-Kay will send a representative to explain details of this, their new livestock purchasing program.
Mr. Stevens advised he would contact the county agent in the . near future to learn the extent of interest shown.

According to records at our local PMA office sixty-four Rappahannock-, farmers plan to seed 716 acres to Ladino Clover pasture this year.
M. H. McVickar, who some will recall did experimental work with corn at VPI and who is now with the Naitional Fertilizer Institute showed up at our „ regent Fruit School. Mr. McVickar advises fertilizer supplies are limited and will become shorter. Thus it would seem wise for farmers to buy and store their 1961 fertilizer supply in the near future.

„ The W. S. C. S. of the Washington Methodist church will sponsor a play “For He Had Great Possessions” in the Rappahannock High School auditorium, Thursday March 22 at 3:00 P.M.
An offering will be taken for the purpose of putting a new roof on the church.
