After two yean of misemblf weather, the Rappahannock Boat
filially drew a rood day Jfor it* annual point-to-point, held on James W. Fletcher's “Thornton Hill Farm”. The new course received favorable comment! from both exhibitors snd spectators— the latter being saved the! usual point-to-point hill climbing to see the jumps'. !
The Farmers* Race was wbn by. "Msg” after the Ant two nones across the finish line were disqualified for cutting flags.
The Junior flat races were! well filled and the youngsten gave the * crowd of 8000 a run Kor their money as they really tincahned around' the course with “Gharmaine” and "Snow Flurry” 'winning their rejpective divisions of the Mason Mountain, and in the W. A. Laing Memorial, for larger ponies and hones, Mildred Fletcher and Neville Wood need neck and neck with Mias -Fletcher’s
"Faraway” being the eventual winner. 1
The Rappahannock Bowl started the jumping men and James W. Fletcher on "Benton Bey” romped home to - an easy victory over Michael Marsh, riding "Venus”
and the third entry in tj»is race was a Very tired “Follow Me” which was pulled up after about two miles.
