A supply of forms 2240, “Claim for Refund of Federal Tax on Gasoline Used on a Farm” has been received at my office and are available to farmers that call. Also a supply of leaflets “Farmers Gas Tax Refund” have been sent in by Internal Revenue Service, which they prepared to help farmers with special problems about gasoline tax refunds. Although refund claims can be filed for the first six months of this year at any time after July 1st To date only half dozen forms 2240 have been d i s t r i buted. Incidentally, these forms are not frank able and therefore we can’t mail them out. Stop by the next time you’re in town and get your copy.

The grapevine reports a certain trucker is sellftig high quality Alfalfa hay delivered to the barn @ 225.00 per ton and that a farmer in an adjoining county has ordered 100 trailer loads. Considering present shortage of surface soil moisture, the poor hay crops made to date, plus this cool night - hot breery day combination of weather we are having now, it appears to me the man with ready cash and an empty hay loft might well invest in a supply of hay. Could be good insurance.
