NOTICE TO

WHEAT FARMERS

Wheat farmers who intend to participate in the Soil Bank Acreage Reserve are informed that the original disposition date of June 30 has been extended until July 15.

H. S. Barksdale, Chairman of the Rappahannock Coounty ASC Committee said that the effect is to extend until July 15 the date by which wheat may be disposed of or destroyed by natural causes to participate in the Acreage Reserve. The extension has nothing to do with the date of June 1, 1054, which was the deadline for adjusting farm acreage of wheat to the farm allotment for purposes of avoiding penalty and eligibility for price support. An important thing for Wheat farmers to remember, Mr. Barksdale said, is that a farmer who did not bring his wheat acreage in line with his allotment by the deadline date of June 1, 1956 is not eligible to dispose of acreage below the allotment for the Acreage Reserve program.
