The Slate Mills Home Demonstration Club held its regular monthly meeting at Hawthorne House, home of Mrs. A. T. Co-' bert, Monday evening, with eleven members and one visitor, Mrs. G. L. Updike, of Washihgton, Va., present. A demonstration on Frosen Desserts was given by Mrs. E1-. isabeth Powers, Co. H. D. Agent 'Devotions were in charge of the president Mrs. Alice Dorsey, Pennies for Friendship were taken.

Roger S. White, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carter White entered the U. S. Navy June 29. He will be statiooned. at Bainbridge, Md., for 9 weeks while he takes his Boot Training. Roger plans te study Diesel Engineering.
