ANNUAL FAIR BIG
SUCCESS
With the remarkable coopera' tion of Ole Man Weather, a host of fanners and the entire student body witnessed one of the most successful Four-County Fairs that the Agricultural Department of the George Washington Carver Regional High School has sponsored since the initiation of this event seven years ogo. Bright skies and moderate temperatures prevailed both Friday and Saturday, , October 5 and 6. ‘ Although there was a marked increase in the numbber of entries 'in all of the different departments what was more pleasing was the expressed' difference in quality. The 623 entries, compared to 407 in last year’s fair, were vyell prepared for exhibition.
Madison County won the Johnson-Washington-Conyers gold cup for the second consecutive year fon having the largest number of ei tries, 262. Orange County was second with 182 entries; Culpeper was third with 142 entries; and Rappahannock was fourth \ with 37 entries. ' , .
