Graze Alfalfa
Grazie one cutting of alfalfa if you arj short of pasture. Put enough animals on the alfalfa' to graze it down to about 2 inches within a week or 10 days, then remove the animals. Alfalfa will not stand long continuous grazing. It may be practical to graze the alfalfa in strips.
If practical, animals can be removed in late July or August from a portion of a tall fescue or other pasture mixtures. This portion of the pasture can be held for later grazing. Top-dress with nitrogen or a complete fertilizer where needed for better growth. Ry allowing the growth to accumulate more late fall grazing will be available after the regular pasture is gone.
