Last week, we reviewed major actions of the first session of the 85th Congress, with particular reference to the legislative proposals of President Eisenhower. During the session, the Senate and House considered hundreds of other bills, and-their committees held hearings or discussed additional hundreds « which never reached the floor for a vote. For example, a publication of the Coordinator of Information of the House of Representatives, entitled "Major Legislative Actions’1 lists more than 125 measures which either cleared one or both House of Congress, or were leporfed favorably by committees.
Here are a few examples of bills which were passed by Congress:
1. A continuation to July 1, 1959, of the suspension of the limit of 2,000,500 which basic law provides for the personnel strength of tilt- armed forces.
