Sow Contest

Raphy Owings, Assistant Co. Agt. announced !a=t Friday night the 1956-57 winners of the flow Chain Contest sponsored by SetrsRoehuck Foundation among Rapnahannock 4-H boys were: 1st Mike Vest.2nd Lac>r Dodson. ?rd Tern' Davis. 4th resulted in a tie. between Bobo Bradford and Harris Powers.

Cash prizes and ribbons were awarded bv Owings and Mrs. B. Miller. Mgs of Sears of Front Roval at a banquet held at Hotel Royal.

Other guests of Sears-Roebuck Foundation from Rappahannock were: Mr. and Mrs. John Vest. Mr. and Mrs. hihn Powers & sou George, Mrs. ,^ra Davis, Mrs. O. F Welch Mr. Herbert W. H. Foster, and Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Lyne.

This tear the Contest moved to the Washington Community where: Carl Clark. Johnny Wetter, Jack Jenkins. Bud Smoot rod Frnesf Eubank are competng for the 1957-58 awards.

Platings are determined by two scorings, one in the fall and :he other in the spring after gilts h ive' farrowed. A point score system is wed'to include management and judging practices stidf as; rations pasture lot provided, housi ig. growth and condition of animal control and prevention of parasites and record books.
