The university of Hawaii, which celebrated its fiftieth anniversary last March, is accredited by the Western College Association and is comparable to landgrant state universities. Situated in beautiful Manoa Valley, the University is some two miles from Waikiki beach making it possible for students to enjoy sunshine, and surf after a mornng of classes and study. ^
A lively round of parties, entertainments. lectures, and tours to temples, museums, a sugar mill, pineapple canneries, artjl various points of interest have been planned bv the Office of Student Personnel. Sailboat parties, ti leaf sliding, coffee hours, receptions, dances. Hawaiian Night, and Tnterrulfural Program will enable students to become acquainted with one another.

Mrs. William Coppedge and Mrs. Henrv Smith gave a Surprise Miscellaneous Shower on Tuesday night for Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Brown who have recently moved from Culpeper to their appartmenr at Ftlan.
