Hawaii University
Among more than 4,5()0 students enrolled in the six-week summer session at the University of Hawaii this year are sisters, Dori:* and Carrie Burchard, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Henry C. Burchard. Both girls are enjoying their first trip to the Islands.
Each year an increasing number of students from mainland United States, representing nearly ever>r state of the Union, crane to Hawaii to participate in the summer program of the University. These students find in the University’s summer session a unique way of combining travel and recreation with study and college credits. A wide range of courses, taught by instructors considered outstanding in their fields, is offered during the summer session. Twenty-three professors from leading mainland institutions are on the summer faculty this year. About one-fourth of the summer enrollment is from the mainland, while 3 foreign countries are also, represented on campus.
