Peter Darr Dennis

Peter Darr Dennis, 76, of Flint Hill, died unexpectedly Wednesday. morning (Xmber 2d at eight < ’clock, emoute to \\ arren Memorial Hospital in Front Royal.

He had retired several years ago as if. State Highway Department superintendent, after 30 years of service. After his retirement, he served as deputy sheriff of Warren County for two years.

He v.as born in Pearisburg. Va. a son of the late Greenwood H. Dennis and Mrs. Naomi Coleman Dennis.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Myrtle Virginia Dennis of Flint Hill; three sons. William of Jackson, S C.. -Gilbert of Amissville and Cooper N. Dennis of Church Hill. Term.; two daughters, Mrs. Stella Johnson of Sperryville and Mrs. Thelma Russell of Flint Hill; and five grandchildren Also surviving is a brother, Joseph Dennis, of Pearisburg.

Funeral services were held on Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock in Flint Hill Baptist Church, con. ducted bv the Rev. John Divers and Rev'. A. D. Goodson. Interment was in the Maspnie Cemetery in Washington, Va.

Graveside rites were conducted bv members of Washington Lodge No.- 78, A. F. and A. M. Members of the Masonic Lodge, and friends of the family served as honorary pallbearers.
