the Southeast Asia Treaty Organization (SEATO)and the Badh' dad Pact. The President wants $1.8 million for this, /some of which would be' used to provide missiles and other new weapons forWestern Europe. 1 Then, there is defense support. This is money used to help certain .'countries maintain bigger def tense forces than they could afford on thejr own. South Korea, Free. China,; Vietham and Turkey would receive 70 per cent of the $835 mi||ion the President asks for this purpose.

There are, also, the various kinds of economic Assistance:

I. .Technical d-operation, or “Point Four,” under which we send technicians abroad to assist other nations in a wide variety of nro>ects. from building dams to killin'' hugs. ($142 million).
