Up to now, marketings have • been running around 10 per cent below last year with, a resulting good demand. And price has improved $1 to,$1.50 for thp P*8* three weeks in a row. The Chicago market last week saw the highest priee in three years for prime steers, $35.50. Choice steers averaged $27 to $30 and good grade steers, $24-$25.
At an officially graded sale at Fredericksburg last Thursday, choice steers ranged from $26.75 to $28.60, averaging $27.80; good steers. ’$25.50 to $26.80, averaging $26-25; 1 lot of choice heifers brought $26.30, and good heifets brought $24.60 to $24.75.
