It the borne of Mr*. Charles JJ, ’Estes on February 26, got off to an early start with their spring planting, when Mis. Raynor V. Snead spoke on '‘Perennials For the Border."
Mrs. Snead advised the group that in order to achieve success with the perennial flower border and to assure continuous bloom throughout the growing season, planning and preparation of soil should precede the purchase of seeds and pants. She also advised using a mulch, to save time spent in weeding and .to conserve moistufe during periods of drought. She stressed the use of plants with good foliage that were attractive even when out of bloom. ’ A nominating committee was appointed and asked to report at the March meeting of the jyub.
