John William Bowen, retired farmer of Amissville, died at the Fauquier County Hospital after * brief illness,

Mr. Bowen, 74 years of aige, was th« son of the late James Bowen and Mrs. Emma Rhodes Bowen of Rappahannock County. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Myrtle Latham Bowen of Amissville; two daughters, Mrs. Henderson Clark of Tampa, Florida and Mrs, Karl Kickman of Arlington; two sons, James R. Bowen of. Art-, ington and William R. Bowen of Amissville; 10 grandchildren and » 2 great grandchildren; one brother Edward Bowen of Marshall; and two sisters, Mrs. Walter Wayman of Marshall and Mrs. Lucy Hutcherson of Washington, D,. ,

Funeral services were held Thursday, February 27 from the. Geest Funeral Home Chapel at 3:30 o’clock, with _ interment in the Fairview Cemetery. Reverend John Hodge conducted the last rites. Activt pallbearers were Alvin James, Milton Payne, Archie ElKott, Graham Hackley, Linden Luttrell and Lee Rodgers.
