Its still good advice to sell your barley and oats as-soon as you can . get it combined.
Feed mills are still looking for enough of these grains to tide them ovr until new corn. Weather has slowed harvest so that this, demand is: still there, but it will be temporary.
Be sure to get an official moisture check if you plan to store barley or oats on the farm. Grain over 14 to 14Va per cent moisture stands a good chance of spoiling.
You might even be ahead selling ypur barley and oats off the combine and buying some later , to feed hogs. v
Wheat is a little different story. ' Early combining is in order with the weather like it is, but a big wheat crop in prospect Will pro- * ' bably mean your best bet is to store commercially under government loan. . , ' Loan rate for Virginia this year, will be about $1.96 to $1.99.
Small grain prices last week -were about the same as a week earlier, waiting for harvest to get going.
