Over and over this to* be true men and
One or the ibasic laws ot Uod that was handed down " to Moses is the law of rest: “Six days shall thou labor and do all thy work” (Deut. 5:13) ,Not only does the physical requifq rest, the spirit must rest. Whenever a person becomes so busy with the job of making a living that he forgets how to live, he goes against the basic law of Gdd and finds himself crushed and beaten. Then he wants to know why God doesn’t strengthen him
God is our ijefuge and strength?.
again I have found
. I have been with
women in the closing moments of Lile, who have found refuge Jpd-^trrhgth. On the other hand, 1 have seen those who have not availed themselves of that strength and it!is like one needing physical strength wfio has gone without food too long.
Many people! feel that they only need the Church for baptism, marriage and 'funerals. It is much like saying, “I ohlyjneed to eat a good meal once or tjwke a year.” We all know if this was actually tried, the physical would die between feedings, so wilj the spiritual when it must go without the food of fellowship, study, prayer and the preaching of God’s word that is found in the house ofj God. v. We can be religious without going to Church about as casiLy as we can become educated without going to schoo ., ’
The Church is a storehouse of strength for ti e soul, but let me be quick to say-it, alone, cannot sustain. One must avail himself of the Everlasting God both night and day. When a home becomes a place ot prayer^ when it that home prayer is the first thing that happens during the day, the last at night, when “grace” is said before - each meal, when parents read God’s wor3 to the family, you will find evidence of the psalmist’s words: “God is our reifuge and strength.*’
