June 15, 1959' David S. Summers. son of William E. Summers of 1206 Housel Ave. Canton, Ohio was the recipient of a Doctor of Medicine Degree at the graduation exercises of tthe University of Virginia.
Dr Summers received his elementary school training at SmedIey and Washington Elementary Schools ni Washington, Va. He attended Bruton Heights School in Williamsburg, Va. where he graduated as class valedictorian in June 1950 and later was awarded the Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Scholarship. In September 1950 he enrolled at Virginia State College, Petersburg, Va., where he received the B.S. diploma in biology and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the USAR in 1954. He entered the School of Medicine at the University of Virginia in September 1955. : ’ Dr. Summers will begin his intemeship July 1st at Syracuse Medical Center, Syracuse, N-YHe plans to begin specialty training following the completion of his interneship in 1960. He is married and now lives in Williamsburg, Va.
