Last Rites For

Joseplji S. Grimsley

Joseph Shelton Grimsley, 67, of Washington, Va., died Saturday, May 7, 1960 at his home here.

Mr. Grimsley, a retired farmer of Flint IJill, had been in declining health for several years. He was the son of the late Philip Grimsley and Nannie Gooch Grimsley of Rappahannock County.

Survivors are seven daughters, Mrs. John Eubank, Washington, Va., Mrs. Garfield Butler, Flint Hill, Mrs. Harrison Henry, Limeton, Mrs; D. C. Criest, Luray, Mrs. L. B. McChanahan, Herndon, Mrs. Margaret Henry and Mrs. Luther Nosset of Alexandria; three sons, John and Shelton Grimsley of Alexandria and Robert Grimsley of Limeton.

Also surviving are one sister, Mrs. Fannie Putman of Flint 'Hill and one brother, Russell Grimsley of Orlean; 27 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

A graveside funeral service was held Tuesday, May 10 at Orlean Cemetery with Rev. John Divers conducting the last rites.

Pallbearers were W. A. Miller, E. M. Richards, Wade H. Massie, Jr., M. G. Watts, Herbert Foster and Gibson Wharton.

Services were in charge of Burton and Geest, Washington, Va.
