Jake Smoot
Jake Smoot, 57, d ed March 22 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Della Whorton in Washington, Virginia. He was the son of the late Robert A. and Lizzie Riley Smoot of Washington.
Besides his wife, Mr. Smoot is survived by seven children, Mrs. Della Whorton, Mn. Anna Clatterbuck, Mrs. Reva Woodward, all of Washington, Va.; Mrs. Helen Smoot of Kuntly; Jake Smoot, Jr., James Smoot, both of Washington, Va.; and Carl Smoot who is in the armed services.
Also surviving are jtwo brothers, Tim Smoot of Rixeyville, Va. and Willie Smoot of Washington, Va.;
one sister, Mrs. Nsjnnie Brown, Flint Hill, Va.; sixteen grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. i
A funeral service was held Saturday fiom the Washington Baptist Church with Rev. Warren Wilbur officiating. Interment was in the Washington Masonic Cemetery. !
Pallbearers were Roy Clatterbuck, Stant Weaver, Carroll Racer, Charlie Woodward, Tommy Wayland, Bob Pullein and J. N. Clatterbuck.
