In The Still Of
The Night
It was relatively peaceful and quiet on Scuffle Hill Saturday night with Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Palmer engrossed in their favorite TV program and their three children happily sledding on a nearby hill with the warmth of a roaring fire.
The quiet was shattered by the siren of the Washington Volunteer Fire Department engine followed by several cars whose occupants excitedly inquired as to the location of the fire.
A passer by on Harris Hollow Roadhad seen the reflection of the sledder’s fire on, the tenant house, and thinking it was burning alerted the fire company.
The general feeling was that all’s well that ends well.

The Rev. Clyde F. Milton of Calvary Baptist Church in Richmond, Va. has accepted a call to the Reynolds Memorial and FT Valley Baptist Churches.
Mr. Claybourne Philips, who is a student at Crozier Theological Seminary, will conduct services on Sunday, February 18th and Sunday, February 25th at Reynolds and FT Churches.
