Enlists In Navy
William Andrew Campbell, 17, Flint Hill, recently enlisted in the U.S. Navy through the Recruiting Station in Culpeper, as announced by Petty Officer D. E. Cain.
Campbell enlisted as Seaman Recruit and is presently stationed at the U.S. Naval Training Station, Great Lakes, 111, undergoing ten weeks of recruit training.
The Navy Recruiting Station is in the post office in Culpeper^ and is open 8:30 a.m. to *4:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday and on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Plume VA 5-8050. Petty Officer Cain is at the Selective Service Office in Washington,; Va. on Monday from 1.30 to 3:30 p.m.
Picnic At Schulers
Sperryville Methodist Sunday School will have a weiner roast and swimming party on September 9th at Schulers in Luray. Immediately following the morning services (about 12:45) the group will leave from the church. All young people are invited to attend.
Remember the change in time of services at Sperryville Methodist Church: Sunday School at 11 a.m. and worship service at 12 noon.
