Boy Scouts Earn
Merit Badges
On the weekend of August 17, Boy Scout Troop 64 of Washington, Va. went on a camping trip 3 miles from Flint Hill. During the trip fishing and swimming were enjoyed, but it was not all play for several of the boy were awarded merit badges in cooking and fishing. Awards made at the conclusion of the trip were best cook, best outdoorsman, best camper, neatest tent, most improved scout and best all around scout.
Scouts participating were Ronny and Stewart Hawkins, David and Stewart Palmer, Sam Snead, Jimmy Jenkins, Roger IHawkins, Philip Kuhn, Milton Gore, Bobby Weakley, Skippy Giles, Page and Frank Moffett and Steve Thomas of Richmond.
Leaders were T. C. Lea, Jr., Ray Snead and John Turner.
