Ine fund raising campaign in Rappahannock County for Children’s Home Society will be held September 4-18, Miss Mary Miller Wood, chairman, announced today. Miss Wood asked the people of this county to give generously in this year’s campaign.
“The need is greater than ever,’ Miss Wood- said. “Unless every one gives his share the Children’i Home Society will not be able tc help all the babies who need help.”
The Society last year received 154 babies into its care and placed 148 babies in adoptive homes.
Amissville Carnival
Gross Over $12,000
Charlie Compton, Treasurer of Amissville Fire Company, today announced that gross proceeds of the carnival held the middle of August amoiunted to $12,122.73.
Mr. Cmpton expressed appreciation on behalf of the fire company and the community for the splendid attendance and cooperation of everyone which made this annual event a great success.
