Deer hunters continue to have a good season as they are favored by fair weather and plenty of deer in the mountains. Rappahannock’s kill now stands at something over 100. Exact figures are not available since some deer have been checked in adjoining counties. The apparent lack of mast may be forcing the deer out of the Park and towards the lowlands. Whatever the reason hunters are taking more and apparently larger deer than they have for several years.
