The presentation was made last Wednesday evening at the awards banquet held at Graves Lodge at Syria. H. S. Barksdale made the presentation and said, “Mrs. Quaintance educates by example. She is active in her church and community, including the Rappahannock Library, Mental Health Service and Zoning Board. She has recently been appointed as a board member to the Lord Fairfax Community College at Middletown.”
Mrs. Quaintance has been instrumental in keeping the dental program going in the local elementary school, and administers to many of the personal needs of students without anyone ever knowing just to what a great extent this occurs.
ACCORDING to a teacher who has been associated with Mrs. Quaintance for 26 years, “Mrs. Quaintance is a very compassionate person and knows how to draw out the best in an individual. I have worked with her for 26 years, and have never been happier.” □
