SEWER ORDINANCE BY THE TOWN OF

WASHINGTON, VIRGINIA KINDLY TAKE NOTICE that the Tbwn Council and Pfenning Commission of the Town at Washington. Virginia writ hold a joint public hearing an the 10th day of December. 2008. beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the Town Hall of Washington, Virginia to consider the adoption of a comprehensive sewer ordinance which provides, by way of summary, for the establishment at connection assessments, fees and charges, the same being $7,500.00 for each residential unit and tor non-residentiai users. $7,500.00 for each equivalent EDU unit, an EDU being the histoncai average monthly water usage divided by 6.000 gallons multiplied by a pew load factor at 1.4 and rounded up to the next unit; a user assessment at $19.50 per month for each connection which includes up to 2.000 gallons par month at water usage and $11.75 per thousand gallons thereafter; the establishment of the service area for Phase T of the sewer system, provision that every structure and user in Phase I must conned to the system and pay the connection assessment and tees and the base monthly charge whether actually connecting to the system at not. establishing a due date at June 30, 2009 by which e8 connection assessment and fees must be paid to the Ibwn; a requirement that each user provide 220 volt power and a sewer connection to the grinder pump at the user's expense; that each user must provide an easement to the Ibwn for instaUabon at the gnnder pump and access to such pump tor maintenance thereafter, a prohibition of discharge at storm water into the system; provisions tor pretreatment of waste water, reporting requirements; requirements tor waste water discharge pawn*, prweeiene andi prohibition as to the discharge of certain classes and lypes or substances, wastes and/or hazardous wSSWs IWd INF System; SUP provision of civil and cnminai penalties for violation of provisions of the ordinance. The foregoing ordinance is a comprehensive wade water ordinance dealing with all aspects of connection and user costs and user responsibilities and restrictions. A complete copy at the proposed ordinance is available at the town offices during normal business hours. All are invited to attend the public hearing at the time and place aforesaid and present their views.
